Ghana requires an ETCN (Electronic Tracking Cargo Note), also known as CTN or ECTN, for all import shipments. Ghana Revenue Authority and Ghana Shippers' Authority mandate this certificate for cargo clearance at Tema and Takoradi ports.

Application Timeline
- ETCN must be obtained before the vessel loads.
- Usually 1 business day with complete documents.
Important Notes
- Cargo description, weight, and value must match the Bill of Lading.
- Export declaration is required alongside standard shipping documents.
- Shipments without a valid ETCN cannot be cleared at Ghanaian ports.
