Somalia requires an ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note) for all import shipments. The Somali Port Authority announced that as of Feb 1/2023 ECTNs are required for all Somali ports.
Required Documents
- Bill of Lading
- Commercial Invoice
- Freight Invoice（Required when the freight amount is not shown on the commercial invoice.）
Application Timeline
- The ECTN must be obtained by the shipper; the goods will not be loaded onto the vessel without an ECTN number.
Important Notes
- The ECTN number must be written on the bill of lading.
